The world is awash today in condemnation, fighting, bickering, criticizing, lying, etc. all of which create a very low sound vibration that affects and influences everything in this world. Hearing these lower energy sounds drags down our consciousness, and has the effect of making us function at a lower vibration - being unhappy, critical, judgmental, angry and confused.
It doesn’t matter which side of any social or political spectrum the lower energy comes from, or which side you may be on, nor whether we are on the giving or receiving end, the result is the same.
So much bad energy has put the world in a downward spiral.
This negative energy has dis-eased our minds, making them susceptible to illness. No wonder that the world is being swept by a viral pandemic!
We need to counter all of this bad energy with energy of light, healing, uplifting energy. And the very best, most powerful and purifying energy is that generated the sound of the names of God. Bad thoughts can be counteracted with good thoughts, and bad energy can be counteracted by the energy of God’s names.
The Spiritual R-Evolution is conducted with spiritual sound vibration, and is made up from the names of God:
Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare
Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare
This is the Maha-mantra. Maha means great, and mantra is a Sanskrit word. “Man” means "mind," and “tra” means "to deliver." Thus, a mantra is a transcendental sound vibration with potency to free the mind from the contamination of our material experiences.
Krishna and Rama are names of the Supreme Lord, and Hare is an address to the Lord’s consort, Srimati Radharani. The Lord is present in His holy names,
and by chanting the Maha-mantra we bring the presence of the Lord into this world. Since the Lord is all pure, chanting the Maha-mantra benefits both ourselves and everyone who hears it, raising the consciousness of everyone to a higher state – a state of happiness, peace and love, leaving behind fear and anxiety.
The maha-mantra is a spiritual sound vibration that purifies all material energies.

This transcendental vibration of chanting of: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare is the sublime method of reviving our Krishna consciousness. As living spiritual souls we are all originally Krishna conscious entities, but due to our association with matter since time immemorial, our consciousness is now polluted by the material atmosphere.
In this polluted concept of life, we are trying to exploit the resources of material nature, but actually we are becoming more and more entangled in her complexities. This illusion is called maya -- our hard struggle for existence for winning over the stringent laws of material nature.
This illusory struggle against material nature can at once be stopped by the revival of our Krishna consciousness. Krishna consciousness is not an artificial imposition on the mind. It is the original energy of the living entity. When we hear the transcendental vibration, this consciousness is revived, and therefore the process of chanting Hare Krishna is recommended by authorities for this age.
By practical experience, also, we can perceive that by chanting this maha-mantra, or "the great chanting for deliverance," one can at once feel transcendental ecstasy from the spiritual stratum. When one is actually on the plane of spiritual understanding, surpassing the stages of sense, mind, and intelligence, one is situated on the transcendental plane.
This chanting of Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare is directly enacted from the spiritual platform, surpassing all lower stages of consciousness, namely sensual, mental, and intellectual. There is no need to understand the language of the mantra, nor is there any need of mental speculation, nor any intellectual adjustment for chanting this maha-mantra. It springs automatically from the spiritual platform, and as such anyone can take part in this transcendental sound vibration
without any previous qualification and dance in ecstasy. We have seen it practically -- even a child can take part in the chanting, or even a dog can take part in it.
The chanting should be heard, however, from the lips of a pure devotee of the Lord, so that the immediate effect can be achieved. As far as possible, chanting from the lips of non-devotees should be avoided. Milk touched by the lips of a serpent has poisonous effects.
The word Hara is a form of addressing the energy of the Lord. Both Krishna and Rama are forms of directly addressing the Lord, and they mean "the highest pleasure." Hara is the supreme pleasure potency of the Lord. This potency, addressed as Hare, helps us in reaching the Supreme Lord.
The material energy, known as maya, is also one of the multi-potencies of the Lord. The living entities are described as an energy that is superior to matter. When the superior energy is in contact with inferior energy, it becomes an incompatible situation. But when the marginal potency is in contact with the supreme spiritual potency, Hara, it becomes the happy, normal condition of the living entity.
The three words -- namely Hare, Krishna, and Rama -- are the transcendental seeds of the maha-mantra, and the chanting is the spiritual call for
the Lord and His internal energy, Hara, for giving protection to the conditioned souls. The chanting is exactly like genuine crying by the child for his mother. Mother Hara helps in achieving the grace of the supreme father Hari, or Krishna, and the Lord reveals Himself to sauch sincere devotees.
Therefore no other means of spiritual realization is as effective in this age as chanting the maha-mantra:
Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna , Hare Hare
Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare

The glories of the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra are presented in ancient Vedic scriptures as the religion for this present age of Kali-yuga. Here are some of the references from the Vedic scriptures:
In this Age of Kali, there is no alternative, there is no alternative, there is no alternative for spiritual progress, other than chanting the holy name, chanting the holy name, chanting the holy name, of the Lord. Brihan-naradiya Purana
Those who are advanced and highly qualified and are interested in the essence of life know the good qualities of Kali-yuga. Such people worship the Age of Kali because in this age, simply by chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, one can advance in spiritual knowledge and achieve the ultimate goal of human life. Srimad Bhagavatam 11.5.36
Although Kali-yuga is full of faults, there is still one good quality about this age. It is that simply by chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, one can become free from material anxiety and suffering.
In this Age of Kali there is no other religious principle than the chanting of the holy name, which is the essence of all Vedic hymns. Sri Chaitanya-chairtamrita Adi-lila 7.74
The chanting of the maha-mantra is the religious principle for this age. Anyone can worships the Lord by chanting this mantra. Such persons should be understood to be very intelligent.
In this age Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's mission is also like that: to deliver the devotees and annihilate the non-devotees, the demons. But in this age He has a different weapon. That weapon is not a club or disc or lethal weapon – His weapon is the sankirtana movement – the congregational chanting of the Maha-mantra. Lord Chaitanya killed the demoniac mentality of the people by introducing the chanting of the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra. That is the specific significance of Lord Chaitanya. In this age people are already killing themselves. They have discovered atomic weapons with which to kill themselves, so there is no need for God to kill them. But He appeared to kill their demoniac mentality. That is possible with this great and powerful mantra. From The Science of Self-Realization
